Corporator Rahul kick-starts drain work, assures overall development of Ward JAMMU, July 19: Corporator Rahul Kumar kick-started the drain work in Ward No: 20 at Auqaf Market on the backside of Ankur Gift House here today. The work estimated to cost Rs. 2 lakh was started in the presence of Ward president Satbir Singh, Mandal Secretary Rachit Khosla, District Executive Members Sandeep Gupta, Rajesh Khullar, Vijay Verma and Joginder Singh besides a large number of residents of the area. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Kumar said that the development works in Jammu had been adversely affected during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as a result of which substantial number of drains and lanes are presently lying in a dilapidated condition, causing great inconvenience to the inhabitants. Now that the situation has improved to a great extent with opening of various activities, developmental works across Jammu will be expedited. Over all development of every area shall be ensured in this ward by taking up more works in a phased manner. During his interaction with the residents of the area the Corporator was apprised of the problems confronted by them especially the dilapidated condition of drains that has hampered hygiene and sanitation of the area. After giving them a patient hearing, Rahul said that he stands fully committed to the development and progress of the Ward and the welfare of its people. He assured them of taking up their problems with the concerned authorities and get their issues resolved. Seeking cooperation of the people of the ward, Kumar said that he shall continue to serve them in missionary mode and make every effort to deliver according to their wishes for the overall development of Ward No 20.
