The attack began when a suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate, enabling two other militants to attempt forced entry. However, all three terrorists were neutralised in the ensuing exchange of fire with security forces.
Officials said the area was swiftly cordoned off as troops launched a clearance operation around the FC headquarters, located in a densely populated zone near a military cantonment. Injured personnel were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for treatment.
Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Mian Saeed Ahmad confirmed the assault earlier in the day, stating that the headquarters was under attack and security reinforcements were deployed immediately.
The incident underscores persistent security challenges in the region despite recent counter-terror operations, raising concerns over militant capabilities and vulnerabilities in high-security installations.
