Jammu, November 5, 2025 : In a major anti-narcotics action, three drug peddlers were arrested with heroin, while the property of another was attached in Udhampur district, police said on Wednesday.
Those arrested were identified as Pawan Kumar of Dansal and Rajinder Kumar of Manwal — caught with 5 grams and 4.2 grams of heroin respectively — and Kazim Ashraf of Bhaderwah, from whom 7.18 grams were seized during frisking in Majalta area.
Police said the arrests take the total number of peddlers nabbed in Udhampur this year to 156. Separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered.
In another case, police attached property worth ₹50 lakh belonging to peddler Amit Singh of Sonthan village, including a residential house, land, and a motorcycle, allegedly bought from narcotics proceeds.
“Both properties were attached based on investigation and evidence gathered under NDPS provisions,” a police spokesperson said.
