Rajouri/Jammu, Sep 11, 2025 : Three mobile phones were recovered during a search operation inside the highly-guarded District Jail Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. The devices, found without SIM cards, were sent for forensic examination as authorities investigate how they entered the premises despite a three-tier security system.
The search was conducted by multiple teams under the jail administration’s supervision after receiving specific inputs. A case has been registered, and the probe is ongoing to determine whether jail security measures, including digital jammers, were compromised.
This is not an isolated incident. Similar recoveries have been made previously, including a smartphone from an undertrial in Jammu’s Central Jail in July and a phone from a jailed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist in January last year.
