Jammu, March 24, 2026 : In a continued crackdown on narcotics, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested six alleged drug peddlers across Udhampur and Samba districts, officials said on Tuesday.
According to a police spokesperson, three of the accused—Mahandeep Singh, Suresh Kumar, and Vikram Kumar—were apprehended at different checkpoints during routine naka checking.
The arrests were made at key locations including Manwal Chowk in Majalta, Circular Road near Devika, and Gole Mela area. During the operation, police recovered heroin from their possession:
- 10.27 grams from Mahandeep Singh
- 1.54 grams from Suresh Kumar
- 5.74 grams from Vikram Kumar
Officials said the remaining three accused were arrested in separate operations in Samba district, as part of intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
Police have registered cases under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigation to trace forward and backward links in the narcotics network.
The operation reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free and taking strict action against those involved in illegal drug trade.
