Srinagar, September 4, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the recently announced Next-Gen GST reforms, calling them a transformative step for the nation’s economy.
In a post on X, Sinha wrote:
“Heartfelt thanks to PM Narendra Modi ji and FM Nirmala Sitharaman ji for Next-Gen GST Reforms. It will empower MSMEs and farmers, accelerate manufacturing, improve ease of living and ease of doing business, while further strengthening our fastest growing economy.”
The sweeping tax rationalisation, approved by the GST Council, has reduced the number of tax slabs, slashed rates on essential goods, and exempted life and health insurance premiums from GST—moves aimed at boosting consumption and simplifying compliance.
