Jammu, September 8, 2025 : Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday informed that urgent efforts are underway to clear the blockade on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway at Thard and Bali Nalah in Udhampur. With the weather having improved, NHAI authorities are working round the clock to restore road connectivity. “We hope to resume traffic movement by late evening,” he tweeted.
In the meantime, due to disrupted road access beyond Udhampur, special arrangements have been made to ensure the supply of essential goods. A newly introduced special local passenger train is operating between Katra and Ramban Sangaldan, facilitating the transport of ration and other critical supplies. These essentials are then being forwarded by road to districts like Doda and Kishtwar.
Dr Jitendra Singh assured that all possible measures are being taken to restore normal traffic flow on the highway at the earliest.
