Leh, September 12, 2025 : The 12th edition of the Ladakh Marathon, the world’s highest AIMS-certified marathon event, is currently underway, drawing over 6,600 runners from 31 countries, including India. Scheduled from September 11 to 14, the event aims to position itself among the most distinctive marathons globally, while promoting Ladakh on the international sporting map.
The event features six races:

Chewang Motup Goba, founder and organiser of the event, remarked, “What began in 2012 as Ladakh’s gift to the world has evolved into one of India’s premier long-distance races, attracting participants eager to test their endurance in the region’s high-altitude terrain.”
Seven corporate partners, including Snickers, PUMA, and Bisleri, are supporting the event.
Logistical and safety arrangements are managed by the Ladakh Police, Health Department, LAHDC, Air Force, Army, Border Roads Organisation, and 27 local communities, ensuring smooth conduct across Leh, Khardung La, and Nubra.
