Srinagar, September 18, 2025 : In a major relief for fruit growers and traders, the Divisional Administration has evacuated 4,873 fruit-laden trucks in just two days. Of these, 2,239 trucks moved via National Highway and 2,634 via Mughal Road.
An additional 500 trucks will be dispatched from Qazigund by midnight, ensuring clearance of the entire backlog and smooth traffic movement.
The evacuation drive, supervised by IG Traffic, was carried out under the continuous guidance of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, who has been monitoring the situation through daily reviews with all departments.
Authorities also confirmed that trucks carrying essential commodities including LPG, fuel, vegetables, and medicines are being prioritized to ensure uninterrupted local supply.
