Bhaderwah, October 7, 2025 : In a daring rescue operation, the Indian Army saved 25 Bakarwals, including women and children, who were trapped in a severe snowstorm along their migration route in the high-altitude areas of Doda district, J&K.

The troops of 4 Rashtriya Rifles braved harsh weather at 10,000 ft to evacuate the stranded tribals and their 420 livestock to safety, providing them with first aid, food, and shelter.

The rescued families expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying they had “lost all hope until the Army arrived through the blizzard.”
