Jammu, October 13, 2025 : An Indian Army jawan, Lance Naik Harvinder Saini, lost his life due to medical complications while serving in Ladakh, and was cremated with full military honours in his native village Arnia Kalan, on the outskirts of Jammu, on Monday, officials said.
Senior Army officials, including Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, along with all ranks of Northern Command, paid rich tributes to the braveheart for his service and sacrifice.
“Northern Command stands firm with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the Command said in a post on X.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Fire and Fury Corps, and other officers also offered floral tributes and expressed condolences to the family of the fallen soldier.
The mortal remains of Lance Naik Saini, affectionately known as Happy, son of Preetam Singh, were flown from Leh to Jammu, wrapped in the National Tricolour.
A massive crowd of locals from nearby border villages gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the soldier. From Jammu Airport to Arnia Kalan, residents organised a tricolour rally as a mark of respect and gratitude.
The funeral was conducted with full military tradition, as Army personnel fired a ceremonial salute while bugles sounded the Last Post, honouring the courage and dedication of Lance Naik Harvinder Saini.
