Srinagar, October 15, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather convened a high-level meeting at the Assembly Secretariat to review arrangements for the upcoming Assembly session, set to begin on October 23, 2025.
During the meeting, the Speaker stressed the need for coordinated efforts across departments to ensure a smooth and efficient session. Key directives included:

General Administration Department: Ensure timely submission of replies to Assembly Questions.

Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs: Forward Government Bills to the Secretariat well in advance.

Information & IT Departments: Provide full media coverage, technical support, WiFi, high-speed internet, and installation of routers as needed.

Security Agencies: Deploy sufficient staff familiar with Parliamentary protocols to ensure the safety of legislators.

Estates Department: Complete repair and renovation works in the Assembly Hall and VIP Chambers; install and check intercoms and telephones.

Traffic & Municipal Authorities: Regulate traffic, maintain cleanliness of premises and lawns, and ensure general convenience for the public.

Jal Shakti & Power Development Departments: Ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the Assembly Complex and MLA hostels.

Health & Hospitality: Advance medical support, fire safety measures, cafeteria services, and proper hospitality arrangements for members, staff, and visitors.
Speaker Rather emphasised meticulous adherence to protocols, safety measures, and timely execution of all arrangements to facilitate the smooth functioning of the Assembly session.
