JAMMU, Oct 19 : In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Jammu Police dismantled two major drug networks operating in Rajeev Nagar (Bahu Fort) and RS Pura, arresting eight accused, including women peddlers, and seizing heroin worth crores along with cash proceeds and weighing machines.

Rajeev Nagar Operation

Acting on credible inputs, police teams led by officers from Bahu Fort Police Station arrested Vishal Kumar of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, near Wave Mall and recovered 275 grams of heroin and an electronic weighing machine from his possession.

During interrogation, he revealed that he procured the contraband from Reena, also of Rajeev Nagar. A swift follow-up raid—conducted with the presence of Naib Tehsildar Bahu Fort—led to Reena’s arrest and recovery of 55 grams of heroin, another weighing machine, and ₹33,490 cash.

In the extended probe, three more individuals were nabbed in connection with the same network, leading to the seizure of 13 grams of heroin, two weighing machines, and ₹3,050 cash.

R.S. Pura Operation

In a parallel operation, Jammu Police busted another heroin supply chain in Chak Talab, R.S. Pura, arresting three peddlers and seizing 186 grams of heroin.

The accused were identified as:

  • Inderjeet, resident of Gandhi Camp, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur (Punjab)

  • Vishal Kumar, resident of Sagarpur, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur (Punjab)

  • Jagdish Raj, resident of Chak Talab, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu

Police Statement

A senior officer hailed the operations as part of Jammu Police’s sustained offensive against narcotics, emphasizing teamwork, intelligence-led policing, and public cooperation as key to these successes.

“These actions mark another strong step towards our mission of a drug-free Jammu. We appeal to citizens to share any information related to drug peddling or suspicious activities in their areas,” the officer said.

With multiple recoveries and the arrest of both local and interstate peddlers, Jammu Police has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, vowing to intensify its efforts to dismantle the supply chains fueling addiction and crime.
