JAMMU, October 19,2025 : In a major breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said it has solved two separate murder cases in Jammu district with the arrest of six individuals, including five members of a family and a foreign national from Myanmar.
Miran Sahib Murder Case
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, said the first case pertains to the murder of Narinder Singh, who was fatally assaulted following a scuffle over a trivial issue in the Miran Sahib area on October 9.
During the investigation, police arrested the prime accused, Tanveer Singh, and his brother Bavneet Singh. Further probe led to the arrest of their father Ranjeet Singh, mother Amrit Kour, and sister Kanwal Preet, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to five.
Sunjwan-Gaziabad Murder Case
In another case, police cracked the gruesome murder of a minor boy, whose body was found on October 10 in the Sunjwan-Gaziabad area of Bathindi.
The victim, identified as Mohd Zubair, was allegedly killed by Mansoor Alam, a Myanmar national, after a marriage proposal by him for the victim’s sister was rejected by her father, Abdul Gafoor.
SSP Joginder Singh said the accused was arrested and confessed to the crime during sustained questioning.
