Srinagar, October 28, 2025 : The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a charge-sheet against three officials of the Fire and Emergency Services Department for allegedly misappropriating government funds worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to an official statement, the chargesheet in FIR No. 56/2016 under Sections 409, 477-A RPC, and 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act was filed before the Additional Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Pulwama.
The case originated from a complaint by the Director General, Fire and Emergency Services, J&K, regarding financial irregularities in the withdrawal of establishment bills, dearness allowance, and pay revision arrears between June 2013 and March 2014.
Investigations revealed that the accused officials fraudulently diverted government funds into personal accounts, committing criminal breach of trust and abuse of official position. Relevant records, bank transactions, and witness statements confirmed the deliberate embezzlement.
The Crime Branch said the evidence substantiated the charges, leading to the filing of the charge-sheet for judicial proceedings. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in public offices, pledging zero tolerance toward corruption.
