Baramulla, November 5, 2025 : The world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has turned into a breathtaking white paradise after receiving a fresh spell of snowfall, marking the arrival of winter in the Valley.
Blanketed in a pristine layer of snow, the picturesque town — known for its lush meadows and panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range — has once again transformed into a winter wonderland, drawing tourists, photographers, and adventure lovers from across the country.
This is the first major snowfall of the season, and local tourism authorities are expecting a significant rise in tourist footfall as Gulmarg gears up for its famous winter sports season, including skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
The snow-capped peaks, glistening trees, and rolling white slopes have turned Gulmarg into a photographer’s delight. Visitors describe the sight as “nothing short of magical,” with sunlight bouncing off snow-laden pine trees and cottages.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Srinagar, Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of -2°C and a maximum of 10°C on Wednesday, with a forecast of “generally cloudy sky with light rain.”
For November 6 and 7, the sky is expected to remain “mainly clear,” with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 13°C, while November 8–10 will likely see clear skies and a mild chill, with lows around 1°C.
Tourism officials said the early snowfall has boosted expectations for a busy winter tourism season, as travellers from across India are already making their way to the Valley to experience Kashmir’s signature snow charm.
