Poonch, November 6, 2025 : In a major crackdown on online fraud, Poonch Police have attached property worth ₹8.5 lakh, including a Maruti Suzuki Brezza (JK02CQ-2851), linked to a Telegram and Dream11 fraud racket, officials said on Thursday.
The action was taken by Police Station Surankote under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) during the investigation of FIR No. 71/2025 under relevant provisions of the BNS and IT Act.
The probe revealed that the car was purchased by Sajid Khan, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Drogain, Surankote, using proceeds of crime obtained through cheating and impersonation on online platforms.
An attachment notice has been affixed on the vehicle, warning the public against its sale, lease, or transfer until further orders.
District Police Poonch, under the supervision of SSP Shafkat Hussain (JKPS), reaffirmed its commitment to tracing and confiscating assets acquired through illegal means in accordance with law.
