SRINAGAR, November 11, 2025 : Voters turned out in large numbers for the Nagrota and Budgam Assembly bypolls on Tuesday, with both constituencies witnessing peaceful and incident-free polling, officials said.
According to the Election Department, Nagrota (AC-77) recorded a final voter turnout of 74.63%, reflecting a strong wave of participation throughout the day. The constituency saw consistent polling across urban and rural segments, with long queues reported at several booths from early morning.
In Budgam (AC-27), polling concluded with a final turnout of 49.92%, as voters continued to cast ballots steadily despite cold weather conditions in some areas.
Officials confirmed that security arrangements remained robust, ensuring smooth conduct of the electoral process across both constituencies. “Polling was held peacefully with no untoward incident reported from any location,” an election official said.
A total of 17 candidates are contesting across the two seats, including prominent names such as Aga Syed Mehmood (NC), Aga Syed Muntazir (PDP), and Aga Syed Mohsin (BJP), among others.
The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, with results expected to be announced the same day.
