Jammu, November 11, 2025 : In a major anti-narcotics breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu recovered 500 grams of high-grade heroin and arrested an interstate drug smuggler during a swift, intelligence-driven operation, officials said on Tuesday.
According to an official statement, acting on a specific and reliable input, the ANTF Jammu team intercepted the suspect following sustained surveillance and credible intelligence regarding drug trafficking activities.
During the search, around 500 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Mohd. Parvez, son of Mohd. Shaheed, a resident of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi.
In this connection, FIR No. 03/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, and further investigation has been initiated to identify the backward and forward linkages of the interstate narcotics network.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused was part of a larger drug supply chain operating from outside the Union Territory, responsible for channeling narcotics into Jammu and Kashmir for distribution among local peddlers. The ANTF is now tracing other members of the syndicate and working to identify both the source and destination of the seized contraband.
Officials said the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, J&K, remains committed to dismantling interstate drug smuggling networks and intensifying its efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.
The public has been urged to share any information related to drug trafficking with law enforcement agencies to strengthen the ongoing campaign against narcotics and safeguard the youth from the menace of addiction.
