Jammu, November 19, 2025 :The Counter Intelligence Unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday launched search operations at the high-security Kot Bhalwal Jail, officials said. The central jail, one of the most fortified facilities in the region, houses hardcore Pakistani and local terrorists along with several high-risk criminals.
According to officials, the ongoing raids are part of a larger effort to uncover terror networks reportedly being run from inside the prison. Intelligence inputs suggested that certain inmates were attempting to communicate with handlers outside, potentially coordinating subversive activities.
Crackdown Follows Major Terror Network Bust
The operation comes amid heightened security after the recent busting of a “white collar” terror module involving a group of doctors. The crackdown intensified following the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, which revealed deeper terror linkages.
Officials said the searches at Kot Bhalwal Jail aim to recover communication devices, identify facilitators, and dismantle any covert networks operating from within the facility.
