Jammu, November 19, 2025 : In the wake of heightened security concerns following the November 10 Delhi blast that claimed 15 lives, Jammu Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bhim Sen Tuti on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive security review during his visit to the sensitive border district of Poonch, officials said.
Security Intensified Across Border Belt
Security forces in Poonch have strengthened checkpoints, increased patrolling, and enhanced surveillance across the Line of Control (LoC) and hinterland areas. The measures aim to prevent infiltration attempts and ensure preparedness against any potential threat linked to broader terror networks exposed in recent investigations.
Officials briefed IGP Tuti on existing security deployments, intelligence inputs, and ongoing surveillance operations. The review meeting brought together senior officers from the police, Army, and intelligence agencies.
IGP Calls for Coordinated Vigilance
During the meeting, IGP Tuti stressed the need for:
-
Enhanced inter-agency coordination
-
Stronger surveillance grids along the border
-
Proactive intelligence sharing
-
Operational readiness for rapid response
He directed the forces to maintain heightened alertness, especially in vulnerable pockets of the district, and to ensure seamless collaboration to counter emerging threats.
The visit comes at a time when security agencies are already on high alert across Jammu following multiple investigations tied to terror modules and cross-border networks.
