JAMMU, November 20, 2025 : In a major development, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday carried out a raid at the Jammu office of Kashmir Times over allegations of promoting activities “against the country.”
According to officials, the SIA conducted an extensive search of the newspaper’s premises, including digital devices, after a formal case was registered against the publication and its promoters.
During the raid, investigators recovered AK rifle cartridges, pistol rounds, and hand grenade pins, among other objectionable materials. Officials said the seized items have been taken into custody for forensic and legal examination.
Sources added that the promoters of the publication are likely to be summoned for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
The SIA’s action marks a significant escalation in its efforts to curb activities viewed as detrimental to national security.
