Srinagar, January 28, 2026 : Two male tourists were brought dead to different hospitals in Srinagar on Wednesday, officials said.
In the first incident, a tourist was rushed in an unconscious condition from a hotel near Dal Lake to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. Doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. He was identified as Taranjit Singh (41), son of Pushvandar Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
In a separate case, another tourist staying at a hotel in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar reportedly fell unconscious and was first taken to JVC Bemina. He was later referred to SKIMS Soura, where doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased was identified as Rajesh Ramchandar Mahindrakar, son of Ramchandar Mahindrakar, a resident of Maharashtra.
Officials said medico-legal formalities have been initiated in both cases to determine the exact cause of death. Police have taken cognizance of the incidents and further proceedings are underway as per protocol.
