JAMMU, January 28, 2026 : Ahead of the 5th session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Government has issued a detailed advisory regulating the entry and parking of vehicles in and around the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, to ensure smooth security arrangements and uninterrupted official functioning during the session.
According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), no private vehicles belonging to employees—including police personnel deployed on security duty—will be allowed inside the Civil Secretariat premises during the Assembly session.
The advisory states that private vehicles of Civil Secretariat employees will be parked at the designated parking space available at the under-construction Assembly Complex. Parking will be allowed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Escort vehicles and media vehicles will not be permitted to park in these designated areas.
The government has directed all officers and officials to extend full cooperation to the Senior Superintendent of Police (Security), Civil Secretariat, who will oversee and regulate vehicular movement and parking arrangements in the area.
Administrative secretaries have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the advisory by all employees under their control, emphasizing discipline and coordination during the Assembly session.
The measures aim to enhance security, reduce congestion, and facilitate smooth conduct of legislative proceedings.
