NEW DELHI, January 29, 2026 : In a significant step towards improving transparency, convenience and operational efficiency, the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) has introduced an online self-booking facility for flight tickets for pilgrims undertaking Haj-2026.
According to a circular issued by the HCoI, eligible pilgrims can now book their flight tickets directly through the Pilgrim Login on the Haj Committee of India website as well as the Haj Suvidha Mobile App. The optional self-booking window will remain open for four days starting January 29, 2026.
The initiative is aimed at giving pilgrims greater flexibility and choice in selecting their flights, subject to seat availability and operational constraints. However, the Haj Committee clarified that pilgrims who fail to exercise the self-booking option within the stipulated period will be allotted flights by the HCoI, without considering individual preferences related to travel dates or specific flights.
The committee has categorically stated that no requests for change of flight or travel date will be entertained through offline modes such as letters or emails.
As per the issued guidelines, the self-booking facility will not be available to pilgrims travelling under the Johfa, LWM and Rubath categories, as well as pilgrims from certain small States and Union Territories where transportation arrangements are managed directly by the respective State Haj Committees. For these categories, flights will be allotted solely by the HCoI.
Once a flight is booked using the self-booking system, no modification or cancellation will be permitted. The Haj Committee has also reserved the right to alter flight schedules or cancel journeys in case of operational, technical or administrative exigencies.
To ensure smooth implementation, State Haj Committees have been directed to widely publicise the facility and extend all necessary assistance to pilgrims during the booking process. Pilgrims have also been advised to join the official Haj Committee WhatsApp channel for timely updates, notifications and announcements related to Haj-2026.
Officials said the new facility reflects the Haj Committee’s continued efforts to leverage technology for better service delivery and enhanced pilgrim experience.
