SRINAGAR, February 14, 2026: The Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of the security framework and operational preparedness of forces deployed across the Kashmir Valley, the Army said.
According to the Northern Command, Lt Gen Sharma reviewed security arrangements in both North and South Kashmir, with a focus on maintaining high operational readiness in a complex and dynamic security environment. He was briefed in detail on the integrated intelligence grid, updated operational protocols, and enhanced joint response mechanisms involving multiple security agencies.
The Army Commander also visited a strategic logistics echelon in Kashmir to assess its preparedness and resilience. Emphasising the critical role of logistics in modern warfare, he underlined that a secure and robust logistics chain remains the backbone of decisive combat capability, especially in challenging terrain and evolving threat scenarios.
Lt Gen Sharma lauded the troops for their professionalism, determination, and unwavering commitment to duty, and commended the units for maintaining a technically sound and future-ready establishment capable of meeting the demands of emerging warfare paradigms.
The review reaffirmed the Army’s focus on sustained vigilance, inter-agency coordination, and operational excellence to ensure peace and security in the region.
