Jammu, February 17, 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday paid solemn tributes to former Minister Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah during the ongoing Budget Session in Jammu.

Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather made an obituary reference to the former minister’s demise, following which members of the House observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

The House also expressed condolences over the sad and untimely demise of Brij Mohan Sharma, former MLC and Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu Province.

In a condolence message, members stated:
“Deeply shocked by the sad and untimely demise of Sh. Brij Mohan Sharma, Ex-MLC and Vice President JKNC Jammu Province. May the noble soul of the departed rest in peace and may the bereaved family be granted strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

The Assembly conveyed its heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and honoured the contributions of the departed leaders to public life.
