Srinagar, March 8, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday booked a man in Budgam district for allegedly circulating provocative and unverified videos on social media that could disturb public order.
According to a police spokesperson, an FIR has been registered at Police Station Chadoora against Suhail Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kuthipora Chadoora, for uploading videos on his Instagram account titled “Master Electrician.”
Police said the videos were related to a recent protest concerning the ongoing situation in the Middle East and were allegedly aimed at provoking youth and the general public, posing a potential threat to public order.
The spokesperson stated that the circulation of such provocative or unverified content can create unnecessary panic, disturb public order, and adversely affect communal harmony.
Following the inputs, police registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police urged citizens to refrain from sharing unverified or inflammatory content on social media and appealed for cooperation in maintaining peace, order, and communal harmony in the district.
