Jammu, March 22, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday flagged off the 24th Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Pracheen Marg Pavitra Chhadi Yatra from the revered Kol Kandoli Temple in the outskirts of Jammu city.
The Lieutenant Governor participated in the Pratham Pooja at the temple in Nagrota, formally marking the commencement of the spiritual pilgrimage. He offered prayers and paid obeisance, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for all.
Interacting with devotees on the occasion, LG Sinha extended his greetings and highlighted the spiritual significance of the yatra, which follows the traditional heritage route associated with the journey of devotees to the shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
Carrying the sacred ‘jyot’, the Chhadi Yatra commenced its journey and is scheduled to proceed towards the Oli Mata Temple, following the ancient route that holds religious and cultural importance for devotees.
The annual yatra symbolizes deep-rooted faith and devotion, attracting pilgrims who seek blessings while preserving the traditional pathways associated with the revered shrine.
