Man Detained Under Public Safety Act in Kathua for Anti-National Activities

JAMMU, April 9, 2026 :  A man allegedly involved in anti-national activities has been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kathua district, police officials said on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Romelu Singh, who, according to police, is a history-sheeter with alleged involvement in activities deemed a threat to public order and security.


Preventive Detention measure

Officials stated that the detention was carried out as a preventive measure to curb his alleged anti-national activities and maintain law and order in the region.

Singh has been lodged in a jail in Jammu district.


Police Statement

Police reiterated that strict action will continue against individuals involved in activities that threaten peace and stability.


Conclusion

The detention highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies to maintain public order and prevent unlawful activities in sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
