BHADERWAH, April 10, 2026 : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Kartik Shrotriya, on Friday emphasized that ensuring tourist safety, communal harmony, and strong security measures in Bhaderwah valley will be his top priority.
Focus on Peace & Tourism Growth
During his introductory visit, SSP Shrotriya said maintaining peace and brotherhood is crucial for sustaining tourism and local livelihoods.
“I have set two clear targets for Bhaderwah—tourist security and social coordination among locals. Communal harmony must be maintained at any cost,” he said.
Lessons from Past Experience
Referring to his earlier posting in Anantnag after the Pahalgam terror attack, he highlighted the economic impact on locals due to a drop in tourism.
“It was painful to see how people lost their livelihood. I hope such a situation never arises again,” he said.
Building a Secure & Terror-Free Environment
The SSP stressed the need to create a terror-free ecosystem to boost tourism and business opportunities.
He urged citizens to cooperate with police by sharing information about suspicious or anti-national elements.
“There is no other way to keep our tourism industry growing,” he added.
Security at High-Altitude Destinations
Highlighting evolving security challenges, Shrotriya said regular coordination is maintained between civil administration and security forces to ensure safety at high-altitude tourist spots.
“Our aim is to ensure that tourists can safely enjoy the beauty of this region,” he said.
Conclusion
The SSP’s approach underscores a balanced focus on security, community cooperation, and tourism development, aiming to strengthen Bhaderwah’s position as a safe and attractive destination.
