Srinagar, May 12 , 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested two persons during a naka checking operation in Srinagar and recovered arms, ammunition and posters linked to the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba from their possession.
According to officials, a police team intercepted two individuals travelling on a motorcycle near the Baba Dem area during routine checking operations.
During the search, police recovered one pistol, three magazines, 21 live rounds, two mobile phones and 10 LeT posters from the accused.
The arrested individuals were identified as Faisal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malpora Habba Kadal, and Faisal Ahmad Guroo of Rajouri Kadal.
Police said a case under FIR No. 26/2025 has been registered under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Arms Act, while further investigation into the matter is underway.
Officials added that security forces have intensified surveillance and checking operations across Srinagar to prevent unlawful and anti-national activities.
