Srinagar, May 16, 2026 : The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has declared a 15-day summer vacation for district courts functioning in the Jammu summer zone of the Union Territory.
According to an official notification issued by the Office of the Registrar General, the summer vacation will be observed from June 8 to June 22, 2026, including both days.
The order applies to district courts located in the summer zone areas of Jammu province.
However, certain courts have been exempted from the vacation schedule. These include courts functioning in Kishtwar and Doda districts, as well as courts situated at Batote, Gool, Banihal and Ukhral in Ramban district, along with Bani in Kathua district.
The High Court has further directed Principal District and Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates of the concerned districts to ensure proper arrangements for hearing and disposal of urgent criminal matters during the vacation period.
The notification aims to ensure that essential judicial work and urgent legal proceedings continue uninterrupted despite the summer recess.
