SRINAGAR, May 18, 2026: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reviewed the ongoing construction work and pilgrim facilities at the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) Yatri Niwas at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
During his visit to the Yatri Niwas, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with officials and directed them to expedite the pace of work to ensure that all pending projects are completed well before the commencement of the pilgrimage, an official spokesperson said.
He also reviewed the arrangements being made for a special sound and light show dedicated to Baba Barfani, aimed at enhancing the spiritual experience of pilgrims visiting the shrine.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by SASB Chief Executive Officer M K Bhandari, Shrine Board member Mukesh Garg, and senior officers from the police and civil administration of Srinagar district.
The annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir is scheduled to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28 after a duration of 57 days.
