📅 Srinagar, Date: 03 July 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Friday distributed pamphlets carrying a special message from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to devotees undertaking the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The pamphlets were handed over to pilgrims at both the Nunwan (Pahalgam) and Baltal base camps, marking the beginning of the sacred pilgrimage with a message of faith, unity, service, and national responsibility.

In his message, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all devotees, describing the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra as an enduring symbol of India’s spiritual heritage, cultural unity, and the spirit of selfless service. He stated that participating in the Yatra is both a great privilege and a deeply spiritual experience that strengthens devotion and national integration.

Shri Narendra Modi noted that the pilgrimage, which begins with the traditional first worship on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, attracts devotees from every corner of the country who undertake the challenging journey with unwavering faith to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani. He emphasized that the Yatra reflects India’s “Unity in Diversity,” bringing together people from different regions, languages, and traditions under a shared spiritual purpose.

The Prime Minister praised the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the pilgrimage. He also expressed appreciation for the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu & Kashmir Police, disaster response teams, healthcare workers, sanitation staff, administrative officials, and thousands of personnel working round the clock to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims.

Special appreciation was also extended to the people of Jammu & Kashmir for their warm hospitality and to the numerous volunteers and organisations operating community kitchens (Langars) and service camps along the pilgrimage route. The Prime Minister described this tradition of selfless service as a living example of India’s civilisational values and the timeless ideal of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”.

As part of his message, the Prime Minister appealed to every pilgrim to adopt five important pledges during the 2026 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra:

• Maintain cleanliness and keep the pilgrimage routes free from litter.
• Follow all safety guidelines, weather advisories, and administrative instructions throughout the journey.
• Support local livelihoods by purchasing locally made products under the “Vocal for Local” initiative.
• Promote environmental conservation by participating in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and gifting a sapling on Raksha Bandhan.
• Strengthen nation-building by embracing the spirit of “Nation First” and contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Expressing confidence that the 2026 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra would become a grand celebration of faith, national unity, environmental awareness, and selfless service, the Prime Minister prayed for Baba Amarnath’s blessings upon every devotee. He wished all pilgrims a safe, peaceful, and spiritually enriching journey while expressing hope that the Yatra would inspire renewed devotion and commitment towards national development.

Pilgrims warmly welcomed the Prime Minister’s message, describing it as a thoughtful and inspiring gesture that strengthened their spiritual determination and enthusiasm for undertaking the holy pilgrimage.
