Shopian, August 21, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Friday visited Shopian and reviewed the operational preparedness of personnel of the Special Operations Group (SOG), while interacting with frontline security personnel on security-related matters.
The DGP was accompanied by SDG Coordination and the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, during the interaction with SOG personnel.
Operational Readiness Reviewed
During the visit, senior officers took stock of the SOG’s operational readiness, functioning and preparedness and held discussions with personnel on various security-related issues.
The interaction focused on strengthening coordination among security agencies, maintaining a high level of alertness and improving operational efficiency to effectively address emerging security challenges in the region.
Focus on Security in South Kashmir
The visit highlighted the importance of sustained preparedness and close coordination among security personnel for maintaining peace and security across South Kashmir.
The DGP’s interaction with the SOG personnel also reaffirmed the crucial role of frontline security forces in responding to operational challenges and maintaining a strong security framework in the region.
Senior officers stressed the need for continued vigilance, effective coordination and operational readiness to ensure a swift and effective response to emerging security situations.
