Nanded, September 11, 2026 : Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has urged RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to visit Maharashtra’s Marathwada region and witness what he described as the government’s failure to address the agrarian crisis facing farmers.

Speaking to reporters in Nanded on Thursday, Raut said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has undertaken significant social work and that Bhagwat frequently speaks on a wide range of issues, from religion to international affairs. However, he argued that the RSS chief should also personally assess the condition of farmers in Maharashtra.

“Mohan Bhagwat should come to Marathwada and see the agrarian crisis,” Raut said, while extending birthday wishes to Bhagwat, who turned 76 on Friday.

Raut Questions Government Over Roads

Raut also criticised the Maharashtra Government over alleged delays in road construction, attributing the situation to what he called “contractor raj.”

He questioned the identity and connections of contractors handling government projects and demanded transparency over whether any were related to leaders or ministers from the ruling parties.

‘Bhagwat Should Expiate for Supporting Government’

Taking his criticism further, Raut said Bhagwat should “expiate” for backing the present Maharashtra Government.

He called upon the RSS chief to work towards removing what he described as a government “imposed” on the people of Maharashtra and the country, and urged that citizens should be given an opportunity to “breathe freely.”

Raut’s remarks come amid continued political debate in Maharashtra over farmer distress, governance, infrastructure and the functioning of the State Government.
