PESHAWAR, SEPTEMBER 29, 2026 : Seven militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in separate intelligence-based security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, security sources said on Tuesday.
According to the sources, five militants were killed in an operation in the Bara area of Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while two others were killed in Chagai district of Balochistan.
Security forces reportedly recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants killed in Bara. Their alleged hideouts were also destroyed during the operation, the sources said.
The latest operations came two days after Pakistan’s military reported killing 71 militants in Shaban and other areas of Balochistan, according to the information provided by security sources.
In another recent incident in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eight militants were reportedly killed during an exchange of fire on September 20, 2026. Two security personnel and four other people also died in the incident.
Terrorism Situation in Pakistan
Data cited from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) indicates that 378 people were killed in terror attacks across Pakistan during August 2026. During the same month, 203 militants were reportedly killed in counter-terrorism operations, while 54 security personnel lost their lives.
According to the cited PICSS assessment, Balochistan remained Pakistan’s most affected province in terms of terrorism, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The latest operations highlight the continuing security challenges facing both provinces, where militant violence and counter-terrorism operations have remained a major security concern.
