NEW DELHI, October 20, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called upon all national institutions and political parties to unite in the larger interest of the country, stressing that national security, collective responsibility and public welfare must remain above political differences.
Addressing Dussehra celebrations in New Delhi, the Prime Minister urged the country’s institutions and political leadership to work together for India’s national interests and collectively confront threats to the nation.
“May our thoughts be aligned,” Modi said, emphasising the need for unity and cooperation across institutions and political parties. He called for the country to move forward with a shared purpose and a collective commitment to national security.
PM STRESSES UNITY AGAINST NATIONAL THREATS
Modi said that all institutions and political parties should stand together when it comes to safeguarding the country’s interests. He underlined that national challenges require a united response rather than divisions or political differences.
The Prime Minister’s remarks highlighted the importance of cooperation among political parties and institutions in strengthening national unity and confronting challenges that could affect the country’s security and stability.
SELF-RELIANCE IS KEY TO OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to building a self-reliant India, Modi urged citizens to have confidence in the country’s own resources, capabilities and potential.
He said people should transform their determination into strength and work towards solutions through their own efforts. The Prime Minister also cautioned against relying on others to overcome difficult situations, asserting that individuals and the nation must recognise and utilise their own capabilities.
Drawing lessons from the life and teachings of Lord Shri Ram, Modi said difficulties should not become an obstacle to progress. He emphasised that courage, determination and sustained effort can help overcome even the most challenging circumstances.
LORD RAM’S IDEALS AND THE VISION OF ‘RAM RAJYA’
Reflecting on the ideals associated with Lord Ram, the Prime Minister said the concept of Ram Rajya represents a society where no one faces discrimination and everyone receives justice and equal opportunities.
He stressed that the purpose of power is not merely to govern but to serve the people and ensure their welfare.
According to Modi, the ideals of Lord Ram offer enduring lessons in justice, equality, responsibility and public service. He presented these principles as important values for governance and for building a society that provides fair opportunities to all citizens.
DUSSEHRA SYMBOLISES THE VICTORY OF GOOD OVER EVIL
The Prime Minister described Dussehra as a festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil and reinforces faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and humanity.
He said the festival inspires people to remain courageous even when confronted by powerful adversaries or difficult circumstances.
Modi emphasised that when people stand firmly with truth and humanity, they can find the strength to overcome adversity. He added that the spirit of Dussehra has long remained central to India’s philosophical and cultural traditions.
MESSAGE OF NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Prime Minister’s address brought together themes of national unity, self-reliance, justice and public welfare. His message called for collective action in matters of national interest while encouraging citizens to develop confidence in their own abilities and contribute to the country’s progress.
As India observes the significance of Dussehra, Modi’s remarks underscored the importance of unity beyond political differences, effective public service and commitment to the values of truth, justice and humanity.
