Srinagar, June 30, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the newly constructed Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) Yatri Niwas at Pantha Chowk, Srinagar—marking a major milestone in enhancing facilities for Amarnath Yatris.
Built entirely through generous donations, the five-storey Yatri Niwas can accommodate 1,300 pilgrims, with 75 rooms and 43 dormitories, offering a blend of comfort and devotion.
“This Yatri Niwas is a shining symbol of our unwavering commitment to make the Amarnath Yatra smoother, safer, and more spiritually fulfilling for every devotee,” LG Sinha said while addressing the gathering. He announced that Phase-II of the facility will commence soon, further expanding the capacity.
He also extended heartfelt gratitude to Shri Mukesh Garg, member of SASB, and his team for their selfless service and philanthropic spirit in realising the project.
“This land of saints and sages continues to radiate spiritual energy and communal harmony,” LG Sinha told media persons, noting the overwhelming support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in making the Yatra a success.
On the occasion, LG Sinha also unveiled a captivating painting on Shri Amarnath Yatra by artist KK Gandhi, celebrating the deep spiritual significance of the annual pilgrimage.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior SASB members K.N. Rai and Mukesh Garg, CEO SASB Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, IGP Kashmir VK Birdi, DC Srinagar Akshay Labroo, and other senior officers from police and civil administration.
