Srinagar, July 2, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, and Animal Husbandry Rajiv Ranjan Singh on Wednesday jointly reviewed the functioning of the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department in the Union Territory.
The review meeting, held in Srinagar, focused on progress made in the sector, policy implementation, and farmer-centric initiatives.
“Chief Minister and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh ji (@LalanSingh_1) jointly reviewed the working of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Department today,” CM Omar Abdullah posted on his official X handle.
As part of the day’s engagements, the Union Minister virtually inaugurated a 50,000-litre-per-day UHT Milk Processing Plant set up at Satwari, Jammu.
“The plant marks a major step towards enhancing milk processing and supply in the UT,” the Chief Minister added.
During the program, the Union Minister also interacted with progressive dairy farmers, who shared their success stories and spoke about how cooperative societies have improved their incomes and market access.
Later, Rajiv Ranjan Singh called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar.
“Glad to have met Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh Ji at Raj Bhawan Srinagar today,” the LG posted on X.
The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on strengthening rural livelihoods, boosting the dairy sector, and ensuring holistic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
