Jammu/New Delhi, July 2, 2025: As the annual Amarnath Yatra begins, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed special women assistance teams and Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) along the Baltal route to enhance safety and support for pilgrims, particularly women.
The ‘May I Help You’ women teams, easily identifiable in orange vests, are stationed at key points along the Baltal track—from the base camp to the Domail entry point—to assist female devotees and ensure smooth movement.
“CRPF is committed to a safe and successful Yatra in coordination with all stakeholders. Our teams are providing security and timely assistance to all pilgrims,” said Sudhir Kumar, CRPF DIG and Joint Nodal Officer for the Yatra.
The CRPF has also deployed 30 personnel as part of its Mountain Rescue Teams, stationed along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. These teams are trained to respond to medical emergencies, high-altitude complications, and any natural or man-made disasters.
Of the 581 CAPF companies deployed for this year’s Yatra, 219 are from the CRPF, with the remainder from BSF, ITBP, CISF, and SSB.
The 38-day pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine begins on July 3 and concludes on August 9. Over 3.31 lakh pilgrims have registered for this year’s yatra, which comes amid heightened security following recent terror incidents.
