New Delhi, Jul 13, 2025: Wrestler and BJP leader Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, on Sunday emphasized the importance of daily fitness and daughters’ empowerment while attending the Fit India Sundays on Cycle event in the national capital.
Lauding the initiative, Khali said, “India can become a Vishwaguru only when our citizens are fit. I’m proud to be here and see so many youngsters cycling. Everyone should devote at least one hour daily to fitness — it’s the dream of our Prime Minister.”
However, the WWE Hall of Famer turned emotional while reacting to the tragic murder of 25-year-old tennis player Radhika Yadav, allegedly by her father over a dispute regarding her tennis academy.
“This is deeply unfortunate. If we go on killing our daughters, how will we fulfil the vision of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao?” he said. “I have a daughter, and daughters are no less than sons. The problem lies in mindset — and that must change. We must support our daughters and motivate them to excel, especially in sports.”
The Radhika Yadav Case
Radhika Yadav, a rising tennis player, was shot dead by her father Deepak Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57 on July 11, reportedly following a dispute related to her tennis academy. A post-mortem confirmed multiple gunshot wounds.
Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar confirmed the case and said investigations are also looking into a music video Radhika had appeared in. While sources indicated the father had objected to the video, police found no direct link between the video and the murder.
Radhika was cremated in Gurugram following the autopsy.
