SRINAGAR, July 23, 2025 – The Committee on Public Undertakings of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly held a crucial meeting today at the Assembly Complex in Srinagar to review audit observations from the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report concerning the J&K Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited.
The committee closely examined Audit Paras 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 from the 2018–19 CAG report, engaging in detailed discussions on the findings and recommendations.
The meeting was chaired by Ali Mohammad Sagar, with participation from committee members Saifullah Mir, Ali Mohammad Dar, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Shakti Raj Parihar, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Saif Ud Din Bhat, and Tanvir Sadiq.
Senior officials, including the Principal Accountant General, Principal Secretary PWD (R&B), Director General Expenditure, Director General Accounts & Treasuries, Director Finance PWD (R&B), Chief Engineer PWD (R&B), and representatives from JKPCC, also attended.
Chairman Sagar emphasized the critical role of legislative oversight in enhancing transparency and efficiency in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). He urged the PWD to expedite completion of pending infrastructure projects and highlighted the significance of regular audits to ensure accountability.
Members of the committee also voiced concerns regarding JKPCC’s performance and raised constituency-specific issues related to the corporation’s project execution.
