Srinagar, March 28, 2026: In a major anti-corruption Operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau on Saturday arrested an Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti (PHE) Mechanical Division South Awantipora for allegedly accepting a ₹12,000 bribe.
How the Trap Was Laid
The accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, was caught red-handed during a planned trap operation after a Complaint was filed against him.
- 💰 Total bribe demanded: ₹20,000
- 💵 Already paid: ₹8,000
- 🎯 Amount at the time of trap: ₹12,000
The complainant, instead of paying the remaining amount, approached the ACB, leading to a verification that confirmed the bribery demand.

Further investigation
Authorities also conducted searches at the residential premises of the accused in the presence of magistrates and witnesses. Further investigation is currently underway.
