Pahalgam, July 22, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited the Nunwan and Chandanwari base camps to review arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra. He interacted with pilgrims, service providers, langar sevadars, sanitation workers, medical teams, and security personnel to assess on-ground services and gather feedback.
During the visit, the LG inspected logistics, healthcare, disaster management, accommodation, and sanitation facilities across the Pahalgam axis. He praised the dedication and efforts of camp directors, Shrine Board officials, civil and police administration, security forces, volunteers, and other stakeholders involved in the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
“Over 3.35 lakh pilgrims have undertaken the Yatra so far, and 97% of them have shared positive feedback. The spiritual atmosphere and seamless arrangements are ensuring a memorable experience for devotees of Baba Barfani,” the LG said.
He emphasized the significance of the Yatra’s success in boosting tourism and fostering a positive perception of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor also issued the following directions:

Health officials to analyze patterns of medical cases among pilgrims and implement preventive measures.

Yatra feedback system to be upgraded with a traffic feedback option to aid smoother movement and better traffic management.
He was accompanied by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari (Principal Secretary to LG & CEO, SASB), Vijay Kumar Bidhuri (Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir), V.K. Birdi (IGP Kashmir), Rahul Yadav (MD, JKPDCL & Nodal Officer, Yatra – Pahalgam Axis), Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid (DC Anantnag), and other senior officials from the administration, Shrine Board, police, and security forces.
