Jammu, January 23, 2026 : The Indian Army on Friday paid solemn tributes to 10 brave soldiers who lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Bhaderwah–Chamba interstate road in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the technical airport, Jammu, led by Lt Gen P.K. Mishra, GOC White Knight Corps, and attended by senior officers of the Army, Indian Air Force, BSF, CRPF, Police and Civil Administration. Wreaths were also laid on behalf of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The mortal remains of the fallen soldiers were honoured with full military respect and are being dispatched to their native places for last rites.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday when an Army armoured vehicle, deployed for an anti-terror operation, plunged into a deep gorge near Khanni Top (9,000 ft) amid treacherous terrain and bad weather, resulting in 10 fatalities and injuries to 11 personnel.
The White Knight Corps termed the incident as unfortunate and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.
