According to an official advertisement issued under the Ministry of Defence, the porter company is being raised for 179 days—from April 1 to September 26, 2026. The recruitment drive aims to select 600 porters and 200 reserve porters to assist Army units operating in the region.
The recruitment rallies will be organised from March 12 to March 19 at seven brigade headquarters across the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
As per the schedule, rallies will be held at brigade headquarters in Rajouri and Poonch from March 12–13, followed by Balnoi and Naushera on March 14–15, Bhimber Gali on March 16–17, and Mendhar and Manjakote on March 18–19.
To be eligible, applicants must be Indian citizens aged between 18 and 40 years and should be medically fit for the duties assigned to porters. Candidates are required to bring their original documents along with five attested photocopies of identification proofs such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card or Driving Licence.
Applicants must also submit a character certificate issued by their village sarpanch, a medical fitness certificate from an authorised medical attendant, and a police verification certificate, all in original.
Authorities have advised eligible candidates to report at the respective brigade headquarters on the specified dates to participate in the recruitment process.
