JAMMU, April 6, 2026 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday celebrated its 47th Foundation Day across Jammu and Kashmir with flag hoisting ceremonies, rallies, and public outreach programmes.
Celebrations Across All Levels
Party workers organised events from booth to district level, aiming to spread awareness about the BJP’s ideology and governance initiatives.
In Jammu, flags were hoisted at:
- The residence of Sat Sharma
- Party headquarters
- Various localities across the city
Leaders Highlight Growth & Vision
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said the BJP, founded on April 6, 1980, has evolved into the world’s largest political party.
He credited the leadership of Narendra Modi for India’s rising global stature, highlighting the guiding principle:
“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
Rallies & Massive Participation
BJP MLA Yudhvir Sethi led rallies in the old city, with party workers carrying flags and showcasing strong grassroots participation.
He described the BJP as a “vast banyan tree” with nearly 18 crore members, emphasizing the dedication and service of party workers.

Leaders noted that the Foundation Day was celebrated like a festival, with:
