DODA, April 7, 2026 : Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday announced a Doppler Weather Radar for Doda, aimed at strengthening real-time weather monitoring and enhancing disaster preparedness in the region.
Chairing a DISHA review meeting, the Minister said the radar system will improve forecasting accuracy, enable early warnings, and support disaster management, especially in hilly and vulnerable areas.

- Fresh tender soon for stalled Sudhmahadev Tunnel project
- Work on Chattergala Tunnel to be expedited with DPR submission
- Multiple road connectivity projects prioritised
Clarifying concerns, Dr. Singh stated that reports about stoppage of work on the Sudhmahadev Tunnel were incorrect, adding that the earlier tender was cancelled due to security concerns and a new tender will be floated soon.

Dr. Singh also inaugurated three key rural roads, benefiting over 7,000 residents, improving last-mile connectivity in remote areas.
The Minister stressed time-bound execution, inter-departmental coordination, and efficient resource utilisation to ensure development reaches every corner of Doda district.
